Following their extremely well-received MN2S release ‘Love Like This’, The Jinks are back in full force with ‘Inamorata’ (‘loved one’) a vibrant, funky nugget that is set to establish them as one of the most talented newcomer duos of 2005. Combining a seriously groovy bassline with the crispiest beats, Inamorata features an array of the hottest names on the scene. Reel People’s keyboard wiz Mike Patto delivers his jazzy-soulful trademark piano licks, whilst veteran jazz trumpeter Tom ‘Ironlung’ Ashe steps into action with a slick horn solo. Zodiac, who performed the infamous vocal hook on Basement Jaxx’s classic ‘Red Alert’, lend their energetic lyrics to this slick production, making it one of the catchiest vocal 12’’s you’ll hear this season. The Jinks, who’ve won Mixmag’s ‘Future Heroes’ competition and came 2nd in DJs ‘Raw Talent’ competition, will see their fanbase growing with this brand new musical offering. On remix duties is Baltimore’s finest DJ Spen who delivers two hot mixes. The Code Red Remix stays fairly close to the original, featuring crisp beats and a driving electro tinged bassline that is sure to get any dancefloor rocking. For the Code Red Dub, Spen steps it up a gear with a chunkier mix that still manages to keep it musical with funky filtered guitar licks and a great sax solo. With early support from the likes of Laurent Garnier, Brian Tappert, Miguel Migs, JJK, CJ Mackintosh and Copyright, this 12’’ looks like another bomb from MN2S.
