Bingo Players

Wednesday, November 18th, 2009

Bingo Players, consisting of Paul Bäumer and Maarten Hoogstraten, have inflicted the dance scene ever since they broke through with the roof-raising single Touch Me produced in collaboration with Chocolate Puma and released on the legendary label Strictly Rhythm / Defected.

The duo attracted the attention of Martin Solveig, Marco V, Shapeshifters and David Guetta among others, and if that wasn’t enough, it hit Beatport’s chart at #1! Touch Me also appeared on various compilations like Defected In The House and Sensation White.

2008 and Bingo Players appeared to have been made for each other, experiencing some massive aftermath success on their UHM & Tony Flexx Our House remix. The Dutch house mogul Erick E’s Wanna Go Again was treated with the inner Bingo and hit the Dance Tunes top position and was inserted in Noir, Sander van Doorn and Patric La Funk’s CD machines.

In late 2008 Bingo Players rocked on with another smash hit Get Up released on Bart B More’s label Secure Recordings; it hit the shelves following a huge buzz and support from Laidback Luke, A Trak, Junior Sanchez and Crookers and made it onto the 2008 I LOVE TECHNO compilation, mixed by Boys Noize. The following release Chop was a huge club hit reaching #2 on the Beatport chart and stayed in the top 10 for several weeks.

Proving they’ve got the skills, Bingo Players embarked on generating several remixes like Joachim Garraud’s Are You Ready, Oliver Twizt’s You’re Not Alone, Ron Caroll’s Bump To DJs and Kristine W’s Feel What You Want. Like their own sensational hits, the duo showcased their skills as re-mixers and created tracks that blossomed in the dance scene while destroying the dance floors.

In 2010 Bingo Players launched their own label Hysteria creating the platform for artists such as Carl Tricks, Nicky Romero, Starkillers and Dimitry Ko, not to mention releasing their 2011 summer hit Cry (Just A Little) that took the world by storm. Alongside the summer hit, they launched the label with their other productions Lame Brained, Get On The Move and Obviously achieving excellent response from fellow artists.

The Bingo duo seem unstoppable as they embark on further work in 2011, already having released several tracks including the successful Sliced in collaboration with Nicky Romero on Hysteria. Their new remix of Pitbull’s Give Me Everything (feat. Ne Yo, Afrojack & Nayer) became the most downloaded version in several territories and a major club hit.

With a huge demand from the fans (and artists alike), the duo keep hitting the road popping up in places such as Brazil, Russia, US, UK, Germany and now have confirmed a new residency in Las Vegas. With their featured track Rattle hitting top 10, it seems the Bingo Players can only expect great things from 2012.

Kate Ryan

Tuesday, November 17th, 2009

Today Kate Ryan, after having successfully summarized the French chapter with the French Connection album (2009), is releasing her new single LoveLife, marking her commitment to English-language repertoire, and paving the way for a brand new album. Kate Ryan is poised to reach out for even broader audiences than she did with the already very popular French-language remakes.

Early ‘radio-only’ versions of LoveLife, a high energy collaboration of the Belgian Eurovision star with producer Anders Hansson, met with immediate enthusiasm both with radio staffers and audience. In Spain, the leading Los 40 Principales radio network was snowed under with enthusiastic reactions – in Kate Ryan’s home market – leading Flemish hit maker Radio MNM picked up the song even before the play-lists were updated, and biggest TOP 40 station Q-Music increasing the number of spins weekly.

LoveLife is a premier example of how the combination of a talented singer and skilled producer can bring forward the best in an artist – and make a hit of it. Moulding already catching rhythms with the haunting hook caught in Liquido’s Narcotic, gives LoveLife exactly the edge needed for a number one hit.

The video for LoveLife was directed by Olivier Sommer, who also shot the clip for Kate’s Ella, Elle L’a – and the Liquido video. “The hook is so strong I get to make this video twice”, Sommer said on the clip with a ‘telenovela’ storyboard…

Both LoveLife and the upcoming album Electroshock were recorded at Stockholm’s Roxy Studio’s (formerly Cheyron Studio’s), the inspiring workplace where artists like Backstreet Boys, Cher and Britney Spears came to cut hit records. As on her four previous albums, Kate Ryan contributed in writing most of the twelve songs on the new album – alongside Anders Hansson, Kate also worked as co-producer on several tracks.

With Kate Ryan being a steady seller in the legal download segment (in 2009, Kate was awarded “Most downloaded artist in Spain” with over 400.000 downloads of Voyage Voyage and Ella, Ella L’a), Electroshock will also feature three iTunes exclusive tracks.

Kate Ryan’s determined choice for English language repertoire will undoubtedly bring her beyond the already loyal fan base in Belgium, Spain, Scandinavia, the Baltic States, Germany, Poland and Canada – backed by an impressive career ignited by Scream for More in 2001, confirming with pan-European hits like Désenchantée, Only If I, Voyage Voyage, and Ella Elle L’a Kate Ryan is now eyeing dance floors and audiences worldwide, with a solid live reputation to conquer them.

Lil’ Kim

Tuesday, November 17th, 2009

Kimberly Denise Jones was born in 1974 to parents Linwood Jones and Ruby Mae. She is of Native American and African American descent. Standing just 4 feet 11 inches tall, Kimberly Jones seems much less than being just your average girl in the hood, but when Lil’ Kim was introduced to the world, she became known for her provocative over-the-top outfits, glamorous blonde hair-dos, pornographic attitude, sexy man-crazed looks and a groundbreaking triumph that eventually secured her place as one of the few female rappers in a male-dominated industry.

A native of Brooklyn, New York, Kimberly was born into a broken home; by the age of nine her parents had filed for divorce, leaving her and older brother Christopher under the custody of their father. A rebellious child living under the strict rules of her dad, Kimberly and her father had constant fights and eventually she ran away from home. As a teenager she lived with friends, drug-dealing boyfriends, and, occasionally, on the streets. After meeting her mentor and life saver Christopher Wallace, (Notorious B.I.G/Biggie Smalls), she began to clean up her life and it was Christopher who helped her develop a career in music.

By then Kimberly had taken in the slogan Lil’ Kim after her height and curbing her name to just Kim. With the help of Christopher she became the only female member of the short lived rap group Junior M.A.F.I.A. Their 1995 debut album Conspiracy debuted at #8 on the Billboard Hot 100 and garnered the hit singles Player’s Anthem (#13) and Get Money (#17). Following the release, Lil’ Kim appeared on records by Mona Lisa, the Isley Brothers, Total and Skin Deep. And it was obvious that it was time for her to come out with her own solo album, and that’s just what she did in 1996 with the release of Hard Core.

Lil’ Kim’s marketing campaign for the album was quite challenging – she was dressed in a skimpy bikini and furs in advertisements, as well as the album covers – but instead of resulting in criticism, the album became a hit, debuting at #11 on the pop charts. The first single from the album No Time, a duet with Sean “Puffy” Combs, became a #1 rap single and #20 on the pop charts. A top 10 single followed with Not Tonight (#6). But while Lil Kim’s career was blossoming, her life was shattered along with the music world when her father like figure Notorious B.I.G. was murdered on March 9, 1997.

Following that incident, Lil’ Kim took a hiatus from recording her own music, but she still kept busy with a string of other projects. She was one of the featured performers of Puff Daddy’s highly successful 1998 Bad Boy Tour, and built her own business with the launch of Queen Bee Records. Her long-awaited Notorious K.I.M. was released in the summer of 2000 under the Queen Bee record label and debuted at #1 on the Billboard R&B/Hip-Hop Charts. By then, she had lost weight but still kept the sexual techniques and provocative antics coming for fans that were hungry for more. She had also taken a shift into films debuting in the 1999 teen flick She’s All That and playing Tina Parker in the 2002 comedy Juwanna Man.

In 2001 Lil Kim gained her first #1 hit on the Billboard Hot 100 in a remake of Patti Labelle’s hit Lady Marmalade that collaborated her with singers Mya, Pink and Christina Aguilera, achieving a success that awarded them a Grammy in 2002 for Best Pop Collaboration.

Her third full-length album La Bella Mafia was released in 2003 debuting at #5 on the pop charts and earned her two more hits with The Jump Off (#17) and Magic Stick (featuring 50 Cent) that shot to #2. Her album The Naked Truth debuted at #6 on Billboard’s Top 200 chart and sold 109 000 copies during the first week of its release.

Lil Kim is the Queen of Hip-Hop having caused major influence from the dawn of hip-hop and still curves (whether with her hips or with her voice) the shape of the genre.

Omarion

Tuesday, November 17th, 2009

Grammy-nominated entertainer Omarion makes his long awaited return to the scene with the announcement of a new album and label imprint Starworld Entertainment, through EMI Label Services. The multi-platinum superstar released his highly anticipated third studio album Ollusion last year, which was met with excellent reviews from critics and fans alike.

Throughout each record on the forthcoming release, Omarion showcases his growth as an artist and entertainer. After releasing two solo albums, both of which debuted at #1 on the R&B/hip-hop chart, Omarion is back with an updated sound and truly consistent album that proves he has grown up. The triple threat known for his vocal, dancing and acting abilities penned and co-produced all of the songs on Ollusion. Producers who collaborated on the album include Tank, King, Detail and 253, among others, along with guest appearances by Gucci Mane and Fabolous.

The single I Get It In has Omarion reunited with producer Tank (responsible for title track and first single O on the last album). The song is an up-tempo banger featuring Southern rapper Gucci Mane, and was destined to quench fans’ thirst as it has; during the same week, Omarion embarked on a nationwide radio promo tour.

“My style has evolved so much on this album – I was able to express truly who I am from a creative and artistic standpoint, which allowed me to share a personal side of myself with my fans through my music. This is my masterpiece and I can’t wait for the world to hear my new album,” Omarion said.  “I am very excited about my new home at EMI and know that this is the perfect opportunity for me to return to the charts.”

“We are thrilled to provide commercial and marketing services for Omarion, one of the premiere artists in R&B. We look forward to collaborating with Omarion and his team to build and execute an amazing campaign for his new album,” said  Dominic Pandiscia, Senior Vice President and General Manager EMI Label Services and Caroline Distribution.

His first solo album O, debuted #1 on the R&B/hip-hop Album chart and Billboard 200. His sophomore album 21, dominated radio airplay and also debuted #1 on the R&B/hip-hop chart and #1 on the Billboard 200 chart. The second single from 21 titled Ice Box, produced by Timbaland, topped the Billboard Hot 100 chart and was a Platinum-selling ringtone.

Omarion collaborated with rapper Bow Wow on his third project Face Off, which became the #1 rap album in the US and #2 R&B album.  The actor and producer appeared in several films, most notably You Got Served, which was a #1 box office smash, and earned $40 million. He also added author to his resume in 2004, releasing a solo autobiography titled O on behalf of MTV.

Whatever this talented producer, singer, rapper, song-writer, actor and writer thinks up of doing, he seems to have a secret recipe for success as he never fails to triumph. So stay tuned, as there is a lot more coming from Omarion.

The MN2S Tour Lands In Minsk

Sunday, November 15th, 2009

On Saturday 12th December, Milk‘n’2 Sugars is set to debut the beautiful city of Minsk with its internationally acclaimed non-stop House party – at the mega-club Titan. Opening its doors earlier this year it’s now the most advanced club in the country with a unique lighting and 20 KW powerful sound system, huge dance floors and capacity for 1,500 clubbers. Get ready for the countdown as Minsk prepares to celebrate in style – in a top-class venue, all set to the sounds of Bodyrox, Robert Owens, and Rae.

Bodyrox (Jon Pearn & Nick Bridges) are two of the most talented and in-demand producers in the UK. Partnering with vocal sensation Luciana, the trio has produced a string of successful productions including ‘Yeah Yeah’; a massive electro workout which took WMC by storm picking up early support from Pete Tong, Judge Jules, Dave Pearce and more. Bodyrox then went on to fill every DJs record box with ‘What Planet You On’ (BBC Radio 1 Dance Singles Chart No.1) and ‘Brave New World’ (Mixmag Download Chart No. 1)

Robert Owens is wildly regarded as THE voice of house music. Famed for breathing life and soul into dance records, Robert has not so much embellished house music as played a large part in defining it. ‘Tears’, ‘I’ll Be Your Friend’ and ‘Ordinary People’ are just some of the tunes that have borne his black velvet voice and gone on to become truly classic dance records.

Vocalist of MTV’s Dance Chart Number 1 Persuasion, Rae’s voice graced the house scene in 2008 with her first release Cant Stop. The Collaboration with Kings of Tomorrow/Sandy Rivera went on to be a firm house classic. Her production with ATFC Give Me Luv proved to be yet another club smash, and Rae continues to break boundaries with her rocking DJ sets and potent vocals.
