Martin Corry Congratulates Ormskirk Rugby Club on £50,000 Grant Award

Wednesday, July 25th, 2012

International rugby players Martin Corry, Jason Leonard and Ben Kay presented a £50,000 award to Ormskirk Rugby Club when their bid for Olympic legacy funding was successful.

The grant will provide a huge boost to the club’s plans for development, which will provide new showers and boilers, and improve child protection requirements, a physiotherapy and a treatment room.

Martin Corry said: “We are delighted to have been asked to present this award to Ormskirk Rugby Club. Both myself and my World Cup-winning colleagues here with me today have reached the top of our careers but we could not have done so without the support of our local rugby clubs where we first played.”

Before Martin retired at the end of the 1998/1999 season, he managed to captain the Barbarians to victory against England. He is now involved with RuckingBall.com – a community which aims to develop school-boy rugby, coaches and parents.
