John Murray

Successful professional boxer John Murray is one of many talents sportsmen we have on our roster at MN2S, and one available for a range of after dinner events, functions and ceremonies. 27-years-old, John is a lightweight boxer and former Scottish and Irish lightweight champion.

Training at the Denton Gym in Manchester throughout his career, John is brother to Joe – a former British Olympian himself. He turned pro with a win in his first match in 2003 and has gone on to win 31 of his 33 professional fights, knocking out his various opponents a total of 18 times. In 2001 John joined myriad other great boxers by signing up to be promoted by notorious figure in the scene, Frank Warren.

As well as many different belts and wins, amongst the highlights of John’s career was being anointed ‘young boxer of the year’ at a ceremony held in London in October 2006, an accolade famous boxers such as Ricky Hatton, Frank Bruno and Barry McGuigan have all won in the past.
