Known in the boxing world as Steve O, Steve O’Meara is one of the many professional boxers we can offer to you as a guest host or after dinner speaker at your function, conference or award ceremony. During his amateur career, Steve O was ranked 14th at welterweight by Boxing News. The ranking includes all four nations i.e. all welterweights in, England, Ireland, Scotland and Wales, and Steve has successfully represented London a number of times. It was after speaking with Mick Delaney – Dale Youth senior club coach – that Joe decided to turn pro, with a first fight at that level against former amateur star and World Title Challenger, Jim McDonnell. Steve has plenty of support throughout the boxing community; with ex heavyweight world champ ‘Terrible’ Tim Witherspoon even sitting in his corner during his hard won victory against Dontre King.
