Tony Bellew

Amongst the many different boxers to whom we have access is British professional Tony Bellew. The former three times ABA Heavyweight Champion is a great after dinner speaker and informative question answerer promoted by Frank Warren. He is also the current Commonwealth light heavyweight champion at Arnie’s gym in Manchester and stands at a grand 6ft 3.

Bellew’s current record stands at 17 fights, 16 of those he has won. Even as an amateur Tony showed plenty of ability, claiming the both the 2002 and 2003 novice ABA titles by knocking out almost every man he faced. A Commonwealth Champion since 2010, Bellew has made three successful defences of his title including against Nathan Cleverly, and twice against Ovill McKenzie with the second of the two matches the most challenging for Bellew. He did manage to win however, right in the 12th and final round.

Outside of the ring, Bellew is a keen supporter of his beloved Everton Football Club and has even been paraded on the Goodison Park pitch at half time during a game. When fighting, his signature entrance song is the theme from Z Cars, exactly the same music as is played when Everton football players take to the pitch during their home games at Goodison Park.
