Visitors arriving at London Heathrow’s Terminal 5 yesterday were given a warm welcome from British pianist and pop star Myleene Klass. As part of a promotional stunt ahead of the games, Myleene performed Vangelis’ Chariots of Fire and greeted arrivals.
She said, “It’s the first time I’ve played in an airport and I’m sure it will create a lasting memory both for me and Heathrow’s passengers as we all look forward to the start of the Games.
“It’s a wonderful opportunity to be part of London’s biggest welcome for the thousands of people arriving for the London 2012 Games.”
Myleene has seen much success since her appearance on ITVs reality show Popstars, signing a five album solo deal with Universal Classics and Jazz. She has had a number of chart successes, covering plenty of popular pieces by Beethoven and Satie and also working as an ambassador for EMI Classics UK.
