Mark ‘Bez’ Berry is a much loved cultural icon from the acid house days of the late 80s and early 90s having spent much of his life dancing on stage for seminal Madchester group The Happy Mondays and now spends his life touring as a DJ, a guest at events around the country and panellist on a number of TV shows.
Bez was technically a percussionist with the group that also featured Shaun Ryder in it’s line-up, but was most often seen dancing in front of the stage acting as somewhat of a frontman. He is also an author having published a biography entitled ‘Freaky Dancing’ and appeared on Celebrity Big Brother in 2005 to help pay off outstanding tax bills. After many weeks Bez was eventually voted the winner of the show and it marked something of a resurgent point in his media profile.
He now acts as MC at various festivals, is a popular guest performer and musical icon whose legacy shows no sign of slowing any time soon. Should you be looking for an amusing character to appear on your TV or radio show or host your festival, Bez is a perfect choice much loved by many.
