Derrick Carter mixes Fabric compilation

Derrick Carter is set for a big few months ahead of the release of a brand new mix album. The veteran Chicago house DJ has mixed ‘Fabric 56’, the latest instalment of the long running compilation series from world-renowned London venue Fabric.

Derrick’s edition of the popular mix series features tracks from Dennis Ferrer, DJ Sneak, Scope, Justin Long, Green Velvet and Is & Diz, plus brand new remixes and re-edits from the acclaimed Chicagoan himself. It will be released in March on Fabric Records.

Carter will be making a special appearance at the Miami Winter Music Conference to promote the mix. You can catch him spinning at Shine at the Shelbourne Hotel on March 10, alongside Terry Hunter and Jon Cowan.

Before that, Derrick will be guest of honour at the Chicago Symphony Orchestra’s ‘Remix: Fusion 1’ event at Architectural Artefacts in the Windy City, a party aimed at getting young people into the possibilities of classical music.

Derrick Carter is one of house music’s best-loved DJs. Popular around the globe for his distinctively ‘jacking’ take on deep house – dubby “boompty” – he was recently nominated as one of Mixmag’s ‘Top DJs of all time’. Derrick is in with a chance of winning the magazine’s poll to find the greatest DJ ever to take to the ‘wheels of steel’.
