Chicago House producer Johnny Fiasco has been connecting with his fans in unusual ways – including using online music sharing site Soundcloud. The veteran DJ/producer has recently posted a number of tracks to his Souncloud profile, allowing fans worldwide to get a taste of his recent releases.
In January alone he posted two slamming tracks – an electronic jackin’ House jam called ‘Hijack’ (released digitally on December 9 on his own Klassic Fiasco imprint) and a specially edited taster for the ‘Drop Zone’ EP, with excerpts from all four tracks squeezed into four and a half minutes.
Previously, Johnny – real name Juan Lopez – had posted a mix of new tracks, recent releases and DJ mixes. His regular updates have proved popular with fans, with over 2300 ‘soundclouders’ signing up to follow him.
Johnny Fiasco is widely regarded within House music circles as one of the best DJs to emerge from Chicago – a special compliment considering that the Windy City is the original home of House. He grew up DJing alongside other Chicagoan house legends like Derrick Carter, and quickly added music production to his armoury.
Since putting out his first release on legendary Chicago house imprint TRAX in 1993, Johnny has released over 50 singles, as well as a number of albums and DJ mixes.
