Even those who don’t know the name have heard the man’s records, that’s how big an impact Kurd Maverick has made on the dance music world. ‘Let's Work’, ‘Pump Up The Jam’ and ‘The Rub’ are some of his biggest hits and have firmly placed Kurd Maverick at the top of the house scene. With a natural aptitude for harmonies and rhythms and being influenced by artists such as Daft Punk, Armand Van Helden and Todd Terry, Maverick rapidly fell in love with house music upon hearing it in his native Dusseldorf and then went on to make his debut at various venues across Germany including Noh Club and Tribehouse and eventually secured a residency and a strong international reputation.
Maverick first appeared on the scene in 2005 with his astonishingly successful remix of Technotronic’s 'Pump Up The Jam' whereupon he experienced worldwide success and immediately established himself as a recognised producer. Maverick’s second single 'The Rub' went onto achieve similar success and consequently cemented his reputation amongst the world’s elite producers. Through his talent and creative vision Kurd’s appeal quickly increased and, in addition to his production work, he established himself as a leading remixer and international DJ. He has so far remixed the likes of Robbie Williams, Bob Sinclar, Basement Jaxx, Herbert Grönemeyer, Rosenstolz, Erick Morillo and Paul Johnson. Maverick has also collaborated with Eddie Thoneick on 'Love Sensation', has remixed New Order’s seminal 'Blue Monday' and released 'Shine A Light' on D:Vision Records.
