Steve Edwards Bio

The son of a preacher man, Steve Edwards is simply one of the most successful singer and songwriters in dance music today.

Steve is considered to be one of the truly global voices of house music. His resume of collaborations reads like a who’s who of the very best in dance music including Cassius, Xpress 2, Michael Gray, Kings of Tomorrow, Basement Jaxx, Dab Hands, Charles Webster, Yves Larock, Alex Gaudino, Axwell  and of course, Bob Sinclar.

As one of the few artists in house music worldwide to enjoy massive and sustained crossover success, his live performances are now more like “mini concerts” where just about every song is a recognized hit.

These hits include Watch the Sunrise, Sound Of Violence, Listen to the Voice Inside, DYOT, Together and of course World Hold On which received a Grammy nomination culminating in the winning of the biggest selling dance record at the World Music Awards in London 2007.

His single Together with Bob Sinclar was a #1 hit in the national charts in three countries and the overall #1 in the US Billboard Dance Club Chart. Steve had four songs on the Bob Sinclar album Born In 69 including hit single Peace Song. He also worked on the roots version of Sinclar’s hit Made in Jamaica with reggae uber legends Sly & Robbie.

Steve is now working with the Shapeshifters on their forthcoming album on Defected, and their first track together Helter Skelter was one of the summer anthems, rinsed on Radio 1 by Pete Tong and Kiss FM by Steve Smart amongst others; the track is also accompanied by a truly stunning video.

Not content to let grass grow beneath his feet, Steve has put the finishing touches to Keep Us Together, which he wrote with D Ramirez & Mara released on Toolroom.

Stay tuned.
