The Atlanta-based singer-songwriter has just returned to the USA after an extensive tour of Europe supporting his recent solo single, ‘Louder (Put Your Hands Up)’. After a string of sell-out dates in Germany and Italy, he’s now looking forward to finishing the year in style in Brazil.
Chris Willis has shot to fame in recent years as the voice of a string of hits by Parisian house producer David Guetta. Since first meeting Guetta in 1998, Willis has performed on countless records by the big-hitting electro-house star, including 2010 summer smash ‘Gettin’ Over’, ‘Love Is Gone’ and ‘Everytime We Touch’ – the latter a four-way collaboration with Guetta, Sebastian Ingrosso and Steve Angello.
Willis started his career as a gospel singer in the late 1980s. By 1996, following years on tour and session work for a host of US stars like Dolly Parton, Ricky Martin and Kenny Rogers, he was ready to release his self-titled debut LP – an acclaimed set that gave gospel a contemporary R&B twist.
But it was his meeting with Guetta in Paris in 1998 that would change his life forever. Willis provided most of the vocals on the French producer’s 2002 debut album, ‘Just A Little More Love’, and has since featured on each subsequent Guetta LP.
Chris Willis is currently working on a brand new solo album, ‘Inside Voice’, which is due for release in the New Year.
