On Sunday 18th September, old friends, club founders and many of the legendary DJs who have helped shape the music over the last 2 decades gathered at superclub, Ministry of Sound to celebrate its 20th anniversary.
One of those legendary DJs was David Morales who played at the event. After paying tribute to his longtime friend and MOS co-founder Justin Berkmann, he opened with his seminal Def club mix of Mariah Carey’s ‘Dreamlover’ and carried on to deliver an amazing set that returned back to the New York Paradise Garage inspired roots of soulful, vocal and uplifting house. Feel-good house (arguably) just as it should be.
It wasn’t just Morales who made sure the night was one to remember in the box, Frankie Knuckles and CJ Mackintosh also showed how house music should be done and included a live PA from Jamie Principle singing the amazing “I’ll Take You There”. Videos have been all over You Tube since the event, cementing Ministry of Sound’s contribution to house music and its skill in getting the absolute best DJs to showcase it.
David Morales will be headlining the MN2S ADE Special at Sugar Factory in Amsterdam on Friday 21st October. For DJ bookings please contact dave.alcock@mn2s.com or call +44 (0) 207 234 9455
