While there are plenty of DJ/producers around, few can also claim to be the voice behind some of house music’s greatest hits.
Belgian Davis – real name David Henrard – has managed to forge a career as an in-demand vocalist, top rated DJ and internationally-acclaimed producer for well over a decade.
His versatility and wide skill-set has made him a regular collaborator for such big-hitters as David Guetta, Tocadisco, Chab and Joachim Garraud. Recently he spent time in the studio with Junior Jack, working on tracks for the popular producer’s next album, and has also added vocals to a number of tracks for the next Tocadisco LP.
2010 has been a particularly successful year for the multi-talented Davis. He enjoyed a global crossover smash with ‘Moscow Discow’, an Ibiza-friendly electro house remix of Telex’s 1979 electro-pop track of the same name. The original had always been popular with DJs – Carl Craig famously remixed it in the 1990s – so many quickly jumped on Davis’ inspired new update.
The success of ‘Moscow Diskow’ led to an upsurge in JD Davis as a DJ. The Belgian has been plying his trade in clubs across Europe since the late 1990s, and has since gone on to spin records in many of the world’s best clubs.
