Following a successful tour of the United States last year, ‘The Magnificent’ Jazzy Jeff will head to Europe in early 2011 to showcase his famous party-rocking DJ skills for the first time since 2009.

“Jazzy” Jeff Townes is widely regarded as one of US hip-hop’s true heavyweights. Over the years, he has sold over 10 million records, produced a wide range of top-selling urban artists and found fame as an actor in NBC’s worldwide TV smash, The Fresh Prince Of Bel Air.
Yet it is as a DJ that Jazzy Jeff will be best remembered. He first took to the decks in his parents’ basement aged 10, and as a teenager became one of the most name-checked DJs on the West Philadelphia party circuit. From the beginning, he was renowned for fusing an impeccable technical ability with real musical flair – and, of course, a fine selection of block-rocking hip-hop, soul, funk, disco and house jams.
In 1986, he walked away with the Championship prize at the DMC New Music Seminar – an early indication of his quality as an innovative scratch and battle DJ. He has since been included in DMC’s coveted Hall Of Fame – the who’s who of hip-hop pioneers – after inventing a number of unique scratches and turntable moves.
