Johnny Hates Jazz: Autumn Tour 2012

To coincide with the release of their new album, Johnny Hates Jazz will be touring worldwide from September 2012. It’s a 60 minute full-band show – Click here to listen to their forthcoming material.

Johnny Hates Jazz achieved international success with their hit single “Shattered Dreams”, released on Virgin Records in 1987. It went top 5 worldwide, reaching number 2 in the US and Japan. This was followed by other hit singles, including the anti-war anthem “I Don’t Want To Be A Hero”, “Turn Back The Clock” (featuring Kim Wilde on backing vocals), and “Heart Of Gold”. The icing on the cake was the band’s now 4 million selling and chart topping album from 1988, Turn Back The Clock. It was one of only two debut albums released on Virgin to immediately enter the UK charts at number 1 (the other being The Sex Pistols’ Never Mind The Bollocks).

In 2010, original members Clark Datchler and Mike Nocito began work on a new Johnny Hates Jazz album. They also toured in Europe and South East Asia, during which time Clark was given a BMI Award for achieving 3 million broadcasted plays of “Shattered Dreams” in the USA.
