Hard Times is something of a heritage label that has recently decided on a reboot. Originally they sprung up in the early ’90s when one time farmer Stephen Raine made the transition into the dance music business. The label began as a series of club nights based around the Leeds area before branching out into a fully-fledged record label. After the label began to take off they attracted some of the biggest names in ’90s house including iconic DJs Todd Terry and Roger Sanchez. By 1996 the label appeared to vanish, in fact it was just lying dormant.
Fast forward to the present and Hard Times has returned with a remix EP of one of their classic tracks “Bounce to the Beat”. The EP comes with the self-aware title “Bounce to the Beat (Back from the Dead 2014 Remixes)” and features some of the hottest talent from today’s house scene.
Artists featured on the remix release include Leftwing & Kody, Mineo and Gavin Herlihy.
