Music Mondays: PBR Streetgang, Lee Walker | News | MN2S

Every week we pick through the latest releases from the MN2S label group and artist rosters. Here’s this week’s selection.

Various Artists ‘Content LTD’ [2020 Vision Recordings]

Ralph Lawson’s incredibly consistent 2020 Vision Recordings imprint celebrated its 20th anniversary this year with a hefty compilation of new material from many of its friends and families called ‘Content’. The series continues here with PBR Streetgang providing an atmospheric, succinct take on Soldiers Of Twilight’s classic ‘Believe’, and Sasse and Sacchi teaming up for the mellifluous, synth-powered vocal cut ‘Future Domain’.

Lee Walker ‘Mind Control EP’ [Mile End Records]

Two slick tracks from the Middlesbrough producer here, with the skippy garage undertones of the ‘Mind Control’, and the more heads down, deep bubbling of ‘Told’. Anek remixes the title track, giving it a slightly more techy slant with seriously low slung bass tones.

Junk Yard Rhythm Section ‘Knuckle Sandwich EP’ [Different Attitudes]

House music from New Orleans here showing the Something Different team’s magpie-like knack for spotting talent across the globe. ‘Knuckle Sandwich’ is a deep yet hypnotically melodic cut that fans of Visionquest should dig, while ‘Slow Movin’ takes gentle licks of funk and applies them to a stripped-back tech house template.
