Spotify have announced some radical new additions to their platform, elevating beyond simply a music streaming platform.
The addition of videos to the platform was one of the biggest pieces of news, which will include not only music videos and music-related content, but also clips and shows from the likes of NBC and BBC and their own Spotify Originals programming.
Podcasts will also be added to the platform, and they have revealed an increased focused on context-based playlisting. Spotify Running is another new feature, which will use smartphone sensors to select music tempo-matched to the listener’s running speed.
The new updates are initially being rolled out through iOS in different markets.
