R&B star Ameriie is back with her first new music in six months in the form of the sultry ‘Mustang’.
Premiered on her SoundCloud page just before Christmas, it was posted just before the 10th anniversary of her breakthrough smash classic ‘1 Thing’. “She’s a wild one / so many have tried but none can tame her” she sings over fat synths and crisp, taut beats on the new track.
She is currently working on two separate new albums: ‘Cymatika’and ‘BILI’. “‘Cymatika’ is still being created” she told Cosmopolitan this week. “It has such a different sound. A lot of the songs that I’ve been doing have been kind of filtered into that project. Then I have ‘BILI’, which is probably going to come before Cymatika. But it keeps bouncing back and forth. They have such different sounds, is why I’m doing the different projects. The songs just don’t belong on a single project together.”
She says that ‘Mustang’ is a good indication as to what the sound of ‘BILI’ will be.
