Rocky relishes thought of X-Press 2 return

For veteran DJ/producer Rocky, the return of his genre-bending house act X-Press 2 can’t come soon enough. Lucky for him, then, that their new single ‘Get On You’, has finally hit stores.

‘Get On You’ sees the X-Press 2 duo of Rocky and Diesel (former member Ashley Beedle now concentrating on other projects) return to their dark, druggy house roots with a single that’s every bit as anthemic as previous hits ‘Muzikizum’, ‘London Xpress’ and ‘Lazy’.

The single has already been dubbed ‘one of their best’ by music critics and comes backed with hyped remixes from Uner and Moguai. It’s their first release since ‘Time’ – which hit stores in February 2010 – and is available now on Skint Records, exclusively via Beatport.

‘Time’ and ‘Get On You’ are taken from X-Press 2’s as yet untitled third album – their first since 2006’s mega-Balearic ‘Makeshift Feelgood’.

X-Press 2 have been responsible for some of the biggest underground house music records in living memory. After forming in 1992 and recording a string of throbbing club smashes on the Junior Boys Own imprint, they signed to Skint records in the late 1990s. Here, they released the massive ‘Muzikizum’ LP and a string of crossover hits including David Byrne collaboration ‘Lazy’.

Rocky and Diesel host an X-Press 2 radio show every Thursday night (6-8pm GMT) on Ministry Of Sound Radio.
