Legendary NY DJ and producer Lenny Fontana has established a reputation as a globally renowned selector and a producer of some of the most celebrated tunes in the house music canon. Known as the producer behind the 2000 crossover hit ‘Chocolate Sensation’ and the first US DJ to play at the storied Ibiza nightclub Pacha, Fontana is a revered figure within the dance music community.
His influence may stretch back decades, but Fontana is still as relevant as ever: his latest outing is a full-on disco inferno featuring Atlantic-signed lead vocalist Shirley Lites that received massive support across Ibiza and was given the coveted ‘Tune of The Month’ spot in Mixmag. This is set to be followed by even more disco-flavoured heat later in 2018. The artist is also a welcome presence on radio stations across the globe, with his weekly syndicated show “The Karmic Power Records Radio Show” broadcasted live in several countries, and a new retrospective ‘History of House’ series currently in production.
Fontana’s music career kicked off in 1992 following the release of Butch Quick’s ‘Higher’ on Strictly Rhythm, setting the template for an extensive discography that spans multiple decades and releases on influential imprints such as Defected, Ministry of Sound, Strictly Rhythm and his own label Karmic Power Records. His career-defining hits ‘What You Need’ and ‘Chocolate Sensation’ crossed over into the pop charts, with the former reaching the UK Top 10 and receiving a performance on the legendary Top Of The Pops. Since gaining global recognition for these releases, Fontana has continued to record and produce successfully, touring the world and playing nightclubs and festival stages worldwide.
