When it comes to DJing around the world, it’s fair to say that Pete Gooding has been there, done that, from residencies at Ibiza’s biggest clubs, including Pacha, Amnesia and Privilege, to festivals like Bestival, Creamfields Ibiza at Space and the 80,000-strong crowds at the Stella Polaris festival in Denmark.
Known to many as the man behind Café Mambo, and producer of ten Café Mambo compilations, Pete is evangelical about promoting and playing the authentic, eclectic Ibiza vibe over the more mainstream, commercial sound that Ibiza has become known for.
That’s not to say that he isn’t still much in demand by the mainstream, creating remixes for everyone from Beyonce to Justin Timberlake and even creating a laid back Balearic remix of Level 42’s The Sun Goes Down (Livin it up) for a compilation featuring luminaries such as Fat Boy Slim and Pete Tong.
His recent residency at Hostal la Torre has taken him back to his roots, playing what the Guardian described as ‘everything from new age noodlings to mutant funk, cosmic jazz to acid-fried psych-rock’. He has distilled this original Balearic essence into a brand new compilation, Hostel La Torre Volumen Uno, which was released in September 2016.
Along side his residencies, busy festival schedule and producing duties, Pete has also been a regular host of a weekly radio show The Global Network, which is syndicated across the world with a seven figure listenership.
