Flyte is a dynamic band hailing from London, England, celebrated for their intricate and often confessional songwriting. The group, consisting of Taylor, Hill, and former member Sam Berridge, first gained attention with their debut single “We Are the Rain,” released in 2014 under Transgressive Records. This track, along with its B-side, showcased their unique sound and garnered support from major platforms like Radio 1 and BBC 6Music, paving the way for their signing with Island Records.
In 2017, Flyte released their debut album, “The Loved Ones,” after collaborating with renowned producer Burke Reid in Australia. The album received widespread critical acclaim, highlighting their ability to blend live performance energy with studio craftsmanship. Their focus on vocal harmonies and rich instrumentation drew inspiration from iconic artists such as David Bowie and The Beatles, solidifying their place in the contemporary music scene.
Following the departure of Berridge, Flyte embraced a more collaborative approach, resulting in the release of their second studio album, “This Is Really Going To Hurt,” in 2020. This project showcased their evolution as artists, with production contributions from notable figures like Justin Raisen and Andrew Sarlo, further enhancing their sound.
In 2023, Flyte released their self-titled third album, recorded at Konk Studios. This project, inspired by Taylor’s relationship with artist Billie Marten, features collaborations with Laura Marling and Madison Cunningham, demonstrating their continued growth and commitment to artistic exploration. Flyte’s journey reflects their dedication to crafting meaningful music that resonates with audiences.
