Nam Tae-hyun is a singer-songwriter, producer and actor hailing from South Korea. He began his musical career as a key member of the boyband Winner, before leaving to embark on solo projects and form his own group South Club in 2017.
Nam’s career began with the debut of Winner after winning a place in the group via the popular show WIN — Who Is Next. The band’s debut album 2014 S/S topped both the Gaon Music Chart and the Billboard World Album Chart, and spawned the hit singles ‘But’, ‘Confession’, and ‘Tonight’, all of which he co-composed.
After Winner’s debut, Nam Tae-hyun pursued acting projects and released solo songs before the band launched a comeback in 2016 with the five-track EP EXIT — E. In October of that year, Nam left Winner for personal reasons, promising fans he would return to music when he was in better health.
In 2017, Nam returned after a short break, and launched his new band South Club. The singer has since released many of his own productions, and continues to be a major cultural force on the K-pop scene.
