Petrolhead Danica Patrick is a former record-breaking professional racing driver, an entrepreneur, and an SRX racing analyst for CBS Sports. She also hosts a weekly society and culture podcast, Danica Patrick Pretty Intense. Her health and fitness book, Pretty Intense, was published in 2017. In 2016 she became a 3x winner of the Monster Energy Fan Vote for the Monster Energy NASCAR All-Star Race.
Born in Wisconsin, and raised in Illinois, Patrick started racing go-karts when she was 10-years-old. At 16, after winning numerous regional and national go-kart titles, she started to compete in European road racing, going on to break barriers and set records with her on-track performances. In 2005 she led by 19 laps and finished fourth in her first Indianapolis 500, becoming the first woman to lead laps and score a top-five finish in the race. In 2008 she made history again by becoming the first woman to win a major-league open-wheel race in a North American series with her victory in the IndyCar Series Indy Japan 300 race.
Patrick moved into the NASCAR Cup Series in 2013 and quickly made headlines by becoming the first woman to win a NASCAR Cup Series pole, setting the fastest time in qualifying 500 and making eighth place, the highest finishing position ever for a woman. She went on to break the record for most Top 10 finishes of any female in the NASCAR Cup Series in 2015. She retired from racing in 2018, and moved into broadcasting. She also launched her own clothing line, Warrior by Danica Patrick, published a health and fitness book, Pretty Intense, and started a vineyard in the Napa Valley.
