The multi-talented Nick Di Paolo is an inspiring stand-up comedian, Emmy-nominated writer and host of The Nick Di Paolo Show.
Hailing from Massachusetts, Di Paolo got his start on the stand-up scene after working in sales roles following his graduation from the University of Maine. Inspired by the comedians he saw perform on late-night talk shows, Di Paolo decided to attend his first open mic night. In 1986, Di Paolo performed at Boston’s Stitches club and has never looked back.
In the years following, Di Paolo honed his act at clubs around the East Coast, including in New England and later in New York City. After landing a regular gig at Catch a Rising Star, Di Paolo enjoyed great success in New York. He soon relocated to Los Angles, where he recorded Born This Way, a stand-up album, with The Comedy Store. While in LA, Di Paolo won his big break; in 2000, he began writing for The Chris Rock Show, going on to earn two Emmy Nominations for Outstanding Writing for a Variety, Music, or Comedy Program with the writing team.
Over the past two decades, Di Paolo has appeared on countless stages and television shows, including Late Show with David Letterman, The Howard Stern Show, Tough Crowd with Colin Quinn, on which he was a regular, and at several of Comedy Central’s infamous roasts. Di Paolo has also found success as an actor, appearing in Grace Under Fire, Suddenly Susan, The Colin Quinn Show, Rescue Me, The Sopranos, Inside Amy Schumer, Louie and The Comedian. In 2019, Di Paolo released a comedy special, A Breath of Fresh Air, on his YouTube channel. Outside stand-up and acting, Di Paolo hosted a WFNY afternoon radio show, which set him up to later launch his podcast, The Nick Di Paolo Show, in 2018.
