At the mere age of 15, Rachael Markarian was the youngest dancer from her Performance Arts High School to be offered a scholarship at Steps on Broadway, paving the way for a very bright future. Thriving in all things performance, Rachael very quickly graduated from Oklahoma City University with a Dance, Theatre and Vocal Performance Major.
Her early days after graduation were a whirlwind. She toured as one of the most sought after professional dancers, with the likes of Rihanna, Katy Perry, Beyonce, Pink, Cher, Justin Timberlake and Panic at the Disco. From there, Rachael’s name and career has kept on growing rapidly. She was quickly drawn to the world of film and television, and has appeared in major productions alongside some of Hollywood’s greatest, such as Rush Hour 3, Behind the Candelabra, No Strings Attached, Glee, True Blood and How I Met Your Mother. She also had a role alongside veteran Tom Cruise in the much anticipated revival of the classic, Top Gun; Maverick. Even after all these accomplishments, Rachael never let all the glitz, glamour and fame wash her off solid ground. She still maintains a love and passion for theater and has performed at the prestigious Malibu Playhouse in Emmy nominated Craig Wright’s, The Pavilion, in the lead role of Kari.
Rachael has worked with some of the best directors under the sun, the likes of Jerry Bruckheimer and Steven Soderbergh, and studied with the great Stella Adler’s protege, Arthur Mendoza, at The Actors Circle Theatre. However, instead of keeping all this invaluable knowledge and experience to herself, she is passionate about sharing it to the up and coming generation of storytellers. Through her own company, The Dancers Edge, Rachael mentors and teaches young dancers how to perform and prosper like she has.
