Twomad is a Canadian social media star who creates content and streams his gameplay across multiple platforms, including two YouTube channels, which have a combined subscriber count of nearly 5 million, a phenomenal amount. He is also popular on Instagram (over 660,000 followers), and Twitter (approaching 840,000 followers). If that wasn’t enough, he was also extremely popular on viral video side TikTok and did have several million followers before leaving it during summer 2021.
To top it all, Twomad is the star of a meme, known as “Goodnight girl, I’ll see you tomorrow”. The meme, which first went viral during 2019, is a clip from a video of Twomad sending a goodnight message to an unspecified girl before suddenly keeling over backwards.
Twomad’s reputation originally grew around streams of his Fortnite and Overwatch gameplay, but during 2019, he began to focus more on commentary videos and making skits. It was the Goodnight girl that caught fire and brought him more fans than ever as the video was shared, parodied, and used for memes across the globe. He also gained a certain level of notoriety for his forthright views on K-Pop, particularly the group BTS, and hardcore fans of the genre. During the pandemic, he made headlines again for getting fans to send him the passwords to their online Zoom classes, allowing him to gatecrash proceedings. The videos of these hilarious encounters notched up millions of views on his YouTube channel, making him more popular than ever.
