Willam Belli, known simply as Willam, is a wonderfully glam drag artist, performer, singer-songwriter, TV personality, author, and actor, who was a contestant on season four of the reality TV show RuPaul’s Drag Race. She is best known for her role as the transgender woman Cherry Peck in the hit medical drama Nip/Tuck, and for appearing in the movie remake of A Star Is Born in 2018. In 2019 she was voted by New York magazine at No.9 on their list of the most powerful drag queens in America”. His autobiography, Suck Less: Where There’s a Willam, There’s a Way, was published in 2016. In 2019, he launched his own make-up line, Suck Less Face & Body.
Born in Philadelphia and raised in Florida, Belli always had a love for performing and began to pursue a career in acting. He made his TV debut in 2002 in The District, and has since appeared in countless productions, including Arrested Development, My Name Is Earl, CSI: NY, Super Drags, and Nip/Tuck. His movie career began in an uncredited role in Austin Powers in Goldmember in 2002, and since then he has appeared in such films as American Pie: The Wedding, The Blood Reich – Bloodrayne 3, and A Star Is Born.
In addition to his acting career, he also had a musical background and was part of the band Tranzkuntinental along with fellow drag queens Rhea Litré, Vicky Vox, Detox, and Kelly Mantle. He has been releasing music since 2012, and has recorded three albums of comedy music, the second of which, Shartistry in Motion, debuted at No.1 on the Billboard Comedy Albums chart. He had very little experience as a club performer prior to his appearance on RuPaul’s Drag Race in 2012, and unlike many other queens, performs under his real name.
