Talent Profiles: Mums of MN2S

In advance of Mother’s Day this Sunday,

we’re highlighting the talents of five female celebrities that manage the admirable task of balancing their accomplished careers and busy professional lives with the joys and challenges of motherhood.

Happy Mother’s Day.

Lady Julie Montagu

This yoga and nutrition expert was named one of the world’s top ten Holistic Health Icons in 2017. On top of regularly updating her popular blog, ‘The Flexi Foodie’, Julie has found the time to write three internationally bestselling books – ‘Superfoods’, ‘Eat Real Food’ and ‘Superfoods Superfast’ – with a fourth book just released. ‘Recharge: A Year of Self-Care to Focus on You’ is billed as one of the top wellness titles for 2018. Montagu also had the honour of presenting the BBC’s official broadcast of the Royal Wedding between Prince Harry and Meghan Markle in 2018 – a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity if there ever was one.

An icon of the wellness movement and role model for women everywhere, Lady Montagu finds time between her writing responsibilities, her hugely successful yoga school, and the management of her historic manor house and estate, to look after her four children alongside husband Luke Montagu.

Katie Piper

Best-selling author, activist, international guest speaker and TV personality Katie Piper is an inspiring individual who has battled through adversity to become one of the UK’s most popular and successful public figures, receiving special recognition at The Pride of Britain Awards. Her work with the Katie Piper Foundation has helped thousands of people affected by burns, scars and disfigurements to overcome the difficulties that their injuries present, reconnecting with their own lives and their communities in the process.

Katie is also an in-demand presenter for a wide range of popular TV shows. Her flagship series My Beauty Secret shines a light on the nation’s attitudes towards people with visible facial conditions and explores their varied experiences in dealing with the issue. She has also previously fronted Never Seen A Doctor, Body Shockers on Channel Four and Katie’s Extraordinary Births in 2015.

Katie launched a new book in February, co-authored with her mother Diane Piper and titled ‘From Mother to Daughter: The Things I’d Tell My Child’. The book is themed around motherhood, exploring the wisdom gained from the experience of raising children. Speaking of the book, Piper has said: “This is my journey in motherhood: my experiences, hopes and fears – with my mum’s stories of raising me, a parenting expert’s advice and empowering exercises – to guide you from those first wobbly moments to being a happy, healthy mum and raising children who aren’t afraid to be themselves – and to go for the life they want.”

Gloria Hunniford

Gloria Hunniford is one of the UK’s most beloved television and radio presenters. From chat shows, to current affairs, to lifestyle programmes, Gloria Hunniford’s colourful career in entertainment has spanned decades. This much-loved celebrity and public figure has broken down barriers for women on television – in 1982, she became the first ever female to have her own radio show on BBC Radio 2 – a position she maintained for 13 years. During her time on screen, Gloria has grown into something of a national treasure, appearing on some of Britain’s most iconic television programmes such as This Morning, The One Show, Cash in the Attic, Castle in the Country and Loose Women. Gloria is also a proud mother and grandmother: between her and her husband Stephen, they have ten grandchildren.

Jo Frost

Jo Frost is a parenting expert, best-selling author and TV personality. She’s a household name that helps to keep the peace in the household, known for her starring roles in a variety of shows such as Family Matters, SOS and Extreme Parental Guidance, Nanny on Tour and Britain’s Killer Kids. She’s most recognised for her role as the Supernanny, an incredibly popular reality TV programme in which Frost helps parents that are facing difficulties in disciplining their children and finding familial harmony. Frost has helped hundreds of mothers and fathers develop parental abilities and techniques that have brought about lasting change in their lives. With over 25 years of expertise in the parental arena, Jo has honed her skills with hands-on, real-life experience as a nanny. Despite being better prepared to parent than most mothers, Frost does not yet have any children of her own… but as a skilled child-rearer with decades of know-how under her belt, we thought she deserved a mention regardless.
