Author, activist, and TV presenter Katie Piper has partnered with organic fruit drink Honest Kids for a campaign that encourages families to visit local farms and reconnect with the sources of their food and drink. For a promotional segment aimed at raising awareness of Honest Kids’ organic, health-focused drink range, the mother-of-two put her wellies on and spent the day on an organic fruit farm.
Katie was accompanied by a group of children that had never visited a farm before – together they learned how apples, berries and grapes are grown. Recent research from Honest Kids revealed that many children have no idea where their fruit comes from: more than a fifth of UK children don’t know that apples grow on trees, while 90% of children are unaware that bananas grow on banana plants.
“It’s really refreshing as a busy mother of two to find a product like Honest Kids that’s so simply made with just water and organic fruit juice – perfect for on-the-go refreshment during the hectic summer months. My daughter, Belle, really likes Berry Berry Good Juice it because it’s a lovely drink and it tastes delicious – and most importantly: she’ll drink it and enjoy it!”
Katie and Honest Kids are hopeful that they can encourage families to get back to nature and visit some of the UK’s many wonderful farms and orchards, picking fruits for their own picnic.
