Named by Billboard as ‘Leader of Latin Music’s New Generation’, Puerto Rican born singer songwriter, Luis Fonsi, has enjoyed a remarkable career that was a huge success from the start. Moving to Florida at the age of ten, he was part of a high school singing group, Big Guys, which also included future NSYNC member, Joey Fatone. His talent was clear from an early age, and won him a full scholarship to Florida State University, where he mastered in Vocal Performance.
From there, his demo tapes were picked up by Universal Music Latino, resulting in a debut album, Comenzare, that shot up the Billboard Latin Albums chart and instantly established him as a future star. Eight studio albums and four compilations later, Luis Fonsi has performed for the Pope and President Obama, as well as fans around the world.
He has won two Latin Grammy Awards and supported the biggest stars, including Britney Spears. His single, No Me Por Vencido, was number one for 21 weeks on the Billboard Hot Latin Songs chart, and was named Latin Pop Song of the Decade in 2008. Remarkably, after twenty years in the business, with a string of hit singles and albums behind him, Luis Fonsi just keeps getting bigger and bigger. His latest single, Despacito, was remixed into English, and featured Justin Bieber, propelling it to number one in the Billboard Hot 100, as well as top spot in the charts everywhere from Spain to Sweden, Mexico to the UK. *Excluding Spain and Portugal
