Katherine Ellis is a highly respected and versatile vocalist, she writes the vast majority of her own material including her new single – “Tears” with the Freemasons – which is out globally via Freemaison on 5th August 2013. “Tears” is no.1 in the UK Music week Club and Pop dance Charts and picking up support from the likes of Greg James on his Dance Anthems show on Radio 1 and the Wideboys on Kiss FM. Katherine has performed the song at several events already including in front of 10,000 people in Trafalgar Square at London Pride recently! It has also been adopted as the anthem for Brighton Pride 2013. The reception for the new track has been overwhelming, this is a monster Summer record!
Katherine has worked with some of the biggest EDM Producers in the world including Roger Sanchez, The Freemasons, The Utah Saints vs Drumsound & Bassline Smith, Cerrone and Joey Negro, as well as top Underground players like Meat Katie, Lee Coombs and Dylan Rhymes. In ’98 she had a massive Global hit with the Ibiza Anthem ‘Dreaming’ by The Ruff Drivers. She is also part of Bimbo Jones, their debut album ‘Harlem 1 Stop’ was released via Tommy Boy in the US and their follow up album ‘Go Naked’ is due for release this year. Katherine also has a vast repertoire of jazz, soul and blues covers she can perform to backing track or with a pianist such as Walk On By, Respect and I Put A Spell On You.
Katherine is an engaging performer who lives for her work on the stage and enthuses and enthrals her audiences without fail. Appearing on TV shows like Graham Norton on the BBC and the TMF Awards in Antwerp, she also lights up festivals and clubs worldwide including Glastonbury, Dyagilev and Rai in Russia, MOS NYC etc as well a myriad of smaller private events and restaurant openings. On top of all this, Katherine’s voice also appears on TV adverts for international companies like McDonalds and Gaviscon and in movies Evita, The Lawnmower man and What A Girl Wants. Most recently, Katherine’s soaring vocals featured at the climax of the BAFTA and Oscar winning film soundtrack for ‘Gravity’, starring Sandra Bullock and George Clooney.
