Ministry of Sound re-release Format:B Chunky | News | MN2S

This Friday (November 13) sees the release of Format:B’s huge ‘Chunky’ via Ministry of Sound, ready to make an assault on the UK charts and across Europe.

The track was originally released on the German tech duo’s Formatik imprint at the end of 2014, and has since amassed over 2.5 million plays online – making it their biggest track to date. Ministry spotted its crossover appeal, and picked it up for a full release with a quirky video (see below) getting increasingly heavy rotation on MTV and Viva across Europe.

The track has had over 313,000 Shazams to date, taking it to #2 in the UK Dance Chart and #8 in the overall UK Top 100. It’s the crowning glory for the duo’s slow but steady rise over the last decade, from the minimal techno underground to the pop charts.

‘Chunky’ was made BBC Radio 1’s Track Of The Day in October, and it led to them putting together a minimix for Annie Mac’s Friday night show. New remixes from the likes of Riva Starr (premiered by Dancing Astronaut) and DJ S.K.T. (premiered by Complex) have also breathed new life into the track. Click here to pre-order the track.

In other news, the duo have remixed a forthcoming Martin Solveig single as well as Raumakustik’s ‘Panther’, forthcoming on Formatik on December 16. Upcoming gigs include dates across Austria, Switzerland and Germany (including their own Formatik night at Ritter Butzke) and in the UK in London and Bournemouth.
