Bimini Headlines Fulham Pier for Local Young People | MN2S

The London DJ, musician and Drag Race UK breakout star brings a free headline set to young people across the borough as part of the Young People’s Borough of Culture.

Some bookings fill a slot. Others set the tone for a whole festival. This month, Bimini headlines Fulham Pier as part of the Youth Arts Festival, and the choice says a lot about who the programme is for.

The set is completely free. However, it is reserved for young people aged 13 to 25 who live or learn in Hammersmith & Fulham. As a result, one of the UK’s boldest club voices will play to a crowd of local young people rather than an industry audience.

MN2S arranged the booking, putting the right artist in front of a festival built around creative confidence and self-expression.

What is the Youth Arts Festival?

The Youth Arts Festival runs from Monday 26 to Saturday 31 October. It is the flagship event of the Young People’s Borough of Culture (YPBoC), a programme that gives young people in Hammersmith & Fulham access to workshops, funding, artist networks and careers support.

YPBoC is a Where Culture Connects project. Lyric Hammersmith Theatre leads it alongside H&F Council, The Earls Court Development Company, DanceWest, Fulham Pier and Hammersmith BID, with Arts Council England among the principal partners. In addition, nineteen delivery partners support the programme, including Bush Theatre, LAMDA, Ballet Black, Imperial College London and West London Youth Zone.

Its aims are practical. According to YPBoC, the programme sets out to improve arts provision, close skills gaps and build creative capacity across the borough over 24 months.

The festival week covers a huge range of free activity. For example, there are workshops in street dance, sculpture, drag, costume design, comedy, poetry, musical theatre writing, crochet, acrobatics, guitar, clowning, manga illustration, improv, K-pop fan art and animation.

Beyond the workshops, the programme includes musician clinics, a journalism school, a play-in-four-days challenge, a special effects short course and a band jam. There is also a new writing night and a poetry open mic. Similarly, the festival features a Q&A with India Amarteifio, star of Netflix’s Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story.

Bimini’s headline DJ set sits at the top of that line-up. Free places are available through ypboc.org/yaf.

Who is Bimini?

Bimini is a London-based DJ, musician and writer. Their output sits where electronic music, punk attitude, pride and politics meet.

Many people first met Bimini on RuPaul’s Drag Race UK, where they broke through and built a huge following. Since then, they have deliberately stripped things back and made music the core of their creative work. Today, DJing sits at the centre of their practice.

On the decks, Bimini moves through house, electro, breaks, drum and bass and leftfield club sounds. Often, they blend the DJ set with live vocals. The result is peak dancefloor moments and an electric energy that feels more like a performance than a standard club set.

A debut album built on protest and satire

Away from the booth, Bimini is completing their debut album. It is a politically charged record driven by protest, satire and unflinching honesty, aimed squarely at the British establishment.

Musically, the album draws on punk, rave, jungle and queer dance music history. Lyrically, it leans on Bimini’s sharp tongue, relatable life experiences and irreverent insight, with heartbreak among its touchpoints. Bimini found their people through raves, and the record channels that energy back into the culture that shaped them.

The first single, ‘TANK TOP BUM BOYS’, arrived in June. Its title reclaims a homophobic slur Boris Johnson used in a 1998 column for The Daily Telegraph. Rather than ignore the phrase, Bimini turned it into a riot track. The album will arrive on Bimini’s own label, BRAIN RIOT RECORDS, as Simon Jones PR confirmed at the single’s launch.

That independence follows earlier releases via Sony Music, with support from BBC Radio 1, Radio 2 and 6 Music. Bimini has also produced high-profile remixes, including Anastacia’s ‘Left Outside Alone’ and Kate Nash’s ‘GERM’.

A live CV built on big stages

Bimini’s touring history explains why they make such a strong headliner. Highlights include DJ and live shows at All Points East and the Roundhouse, where they supported Kate Nash. They also played the official BRITs party supporting Lambrini Girls, along with Creamfields Chile.

In addition, Bimini warmed up for Lady Gaga at London’s O2 Arena. They have supported Fatboy Slim on Brighton Beach and joined Peaches and Scissor Sisters on UK tours. Major Pride and festival appearances across the UK, Europe and Australia complete the picture.

Bimini is also a resident for HE.SHE.THEY., the world-leading inclusive party brand. That residency matters here, because it shows a track record of building dancefloors where everyone feels welcome.

Why Bimini is the right fit for this audience

Youth programming lives or dies on relevance. Young audiences can spot a box-ticking booking instantly. Therefore, the headliner needs real cultural weight with 13 to 25-year-olds, not just name recognition.

Bimini delivers on every level. Their Drag Race profile gives them instant reach with a younger audience. At the same time, their music career gives that recognition real substance. They also remain a prominent social and cultural voice, which fits a festival centred on self-expression.

Look at the workshop list again. Drag, costume design, poetry and writing all appear alongside music. In other words, the festival celebrates many forms of creativity, and Bimini works across several of them as a DJ, vocalist, writer, performer and label founder.

For young people exploring creative careers, that breadth is inspiring. Bimini shows that you can build a career on your own terms. Notably, launching an independent label is a lesson in ownership that many emerging artists will value.

What this means for youth and community events

Free, local, youth-led culture is having a moment. Councils, venues and developers increasingly see creative programming as a way to build community around new destinations. Fulham Pier, a riverside venue on the Thames, is a good example.

However, the talent still has to connect. The most effective youth events book artists with real credibility rather than safe, generic choices. Consequently, the right headliner can turn a free event into something young people talk about for years.

This is where specialist DJ and talent booking makes the difference. Matching an artist’s audience, values and live energy to a specific crowd takes industry knowledge and direct artist relationships. Ultimately, Bimini at Fulham Pier works because the fit is right on every level.
