Bass sensation Billy Kenny is the newest signing to the MN2S booking agency DJ roster this week.
Originally from Leeds but now based in the UK and Germany, Kenny is an internationally acclaimed DJ and producer who has played all over the world.
Though he spends a lot of time in Germany, Kenny’s sound combines the best of British House and Techno. With his emphasis on the lower frequencies, Kenny has ruled the Bass scene since he released “Work” on Four40 Records in the summer of 2014. The track displays Kenny’s trademark blend of rigid, high end percussion and deep, throbbing synths.
Aside from releasing chart-topping tracks with Four40, Dirtybird and Simma Black, Billy Kenny has his own record label: This Ain’t Bristol. With This Ain’t Bristol, Kenny has put out some fantastic music, including the Soundcloud hit ‘I Eat Beats’, which featured sophisticated sampling of a string quartet alongside Kenny’s classic hi-hat and bass synth combination.
This Ain’t Bristol has also given Kenny the opportunity to produce for other artists. A skilled technician, Kenny’s productions feature the same creativity that goes into his own recordings. Releases from Kenny and his This Ain’t Bristol label-mates have earned him the support of the BBC’s Hannah Wants and dubstep pioneer Skream.
Equally dedicated to his craft as a live DJ and a studio producer, Kenny’s live show is not to be missed. He is currently embarking on his second tour of Africa and is heading to North America in January 2016.
