The great Sean Dyche is a football manager and former professional footballer, who played in defense for a number of clubs between 1989 and 2007, most notably with Chesterfield, Millwall, Watford, and Northampton Town. As a manager he has been in the hot seat for Watford, Burnley, and Everton.
Born and raised in Kettering, Dyche joined Nottingham Forest as a youth player in 1987 under the legendary Brian Clough. He left Forest in 1990 without making a first-team appearance and signed with Chesterfield. He eventually became team captain and was part of the team that famously reached the FA Cup semi-final in 1997. He signed with Bristol City later that year, and helped them win promotion to Division One in his first season. After going on loan to Luton Town, he joined Millwall in 1999, where he also helped the side secure promotion to Division One in 2001. He moved to Watford in 2002, again becoming team captain. He signed with Northampton Town in 2005, and was involved in their promotion to Division One in 2006. He retired from playing in 2007.
Dyche began his managerial career when he re-joined Watford as under-18s coach in 2007. He was promoted to assistant manager in 2009, and took over as manager in 2011. He left the club in 2012 after a change in ownership and joined the England under-21 national team as part of their backroom staff. A month later he was appointed manager of Burnley, eventually guiding the club to the Premier League in 2013. Despite being relegated after just one season, he guided them back again in 2016. He took them to a seventh place finish at the end of the 2017-18 season, and secured Europa League qualification. After nine years of being with the club he was dismissed in April 2022 withBurnley being in the relegation zone. At the end of January 2023 he was appointed manager of Everton.
