A&R Manager

Job description: 

The role of the Agency A&R Manager at MN2S will cover the following key areas:

Identification of a wide range of valuable potential signings from up-and-coming talent across all genres and suitable for MN2S agents.

Presentation of prospects at a weekly meeting to all agents.

Management of the approach to management / the artist, formulation of proposals, and responsibility for completion of the signing process.

Desired skills & experience

The candidate should have a wealth of experience in A&R and desire to take up a new challenge adding high quality talent to a diverse roster.

The candidate should also be able to take a strong lead in devising and effectuating long-term A&R strategies, have excellent communication skills, and very strong relationships within the industry both in the UK and abroad.

Experience of Outlook, Word and Excel is essential.

Booking Agent

Job Description
Successfully placing DJs, Live PAs and bands in suitable venues around the world. These venues should range from prestige venues, clubs, bars, VIP sector, live music venues, arenas and festivals. Building up an artist’s fees, liaising with management about PR, and generally aiding their career in any way possible. Troubleshooting and dealing with any issues that may arise before, during or after the performance. Negotiation of an artist’s fee, booking fee and all expenses relating to the performance. Filling dates in artists’ diaries, aiding clients to find suitable artists for their venues. Planning tours and ensuring the logistical viability of them. Negotiating with other agents, arranging exclusivity in certain territories for certain artists and ensuring this is adhered to. Constantly sourcing new talent and clients.

Desired skills and experience
The ideal candidate must possess the entrepreneurial spirit that is critical to success in this area of the music industry. Must be hard-working, self-motivated, detail-oriented and capable of always maintaining a professional demeanour. Ideally should have at least one year’s experience working as a booking agent.

• Assist with every step of the distribution chain, liaising with label clients, online stores and streaming sites, our physical distribution network, mastering houses, promotions companies, and more;

Agency Assistant Intern

Brief description of Intern’s role for this program:
MN2S is an international talent booking agency, global music distributor and label Management Company based in London. We operate in over 100 countries, working with a diversity of celebrities, sports personalities, music artists, DJs, producers and independent labels. The intern will experience a broad internship and contribute to our team in a variety of roles. These include database management, research, logistics, press coverage and events.

Specific goals and objectives:
The intern will contribute to our team values and follow procedures in order to gain practical work experience in a fast paced music agency. They will be encouraged to come up with innovative ideas and contribute these to the team. They will work alongside a range of her fellow colleagues which will allow them to gain knowledge across various areas of the business. By the end of their placement, we will have hoped to have provided the intern with the professional development opportunities and training needed to confidently enter the work force in a similar field in the future. The intern will develop their skills specifically in the following areas: research and data collection, presentation skills, website and media publication management, people-focused client management, and logistical strategy.

Structure and methods of supervision:
The intern will go through an induction process and receive training. They will have a supervisor to support them throughout their time with us. We will provide them with all the required support to make their time with us enjoyable and a valuable professional development experience. The intern and their supervisor will have weekly meetings in which they will be able to review the progress of the program and both parties will have an opportunity to share feedback.

Placement structure:
The first week will consist of the intern’s induction process and training needed to carry out their responsibilities effectively. The intern will become familiar with our company ethos, their colleagues (through shadowing and discussions) and how our business works from a bird’s-eye view. The intern will be trained on all of the software that we use. For the following couple weeks of the program, the intern’s tasks will be based around developing their research, analytical, and data collection skills. The types of tasks that will be assigned during this time will be related to researching new venues and assisting with developing our client base world-wide. The intern will also be collating data of venues from websites, artist’s community networks, and send rosters to venues. They will be working closely with the team to learned effective research methods and get briefed on the type of information needed.

For the next couple weeks of the program, the intern will continue to work on the tasks that they have been previously assigned, but will now be tasked with assisting with assembling presentations, artist pitch documents and representation agreements whilst keeping sure that our client and artist contact database is being maintained and properly archived. The intern will begin to work with their supervisor and assist with finding daily news pieces for the MN2S Agency and MN2S Talent websites.

In the final stages of the internship, the intern will be given more progressive tasks. These will include providing support to the MN2S Label Group, researching for new artist mixes for the MN2S Podcast, checking on logistics, including distances between locations and travel time, searching and collating tracks for live artists’ flash players, research for client requests – whatever client may require, and will also be expected to assist with general office duties including answering phones, taking messages, preparing the meeting, as they will now be well-versed in the in-and-outs of the office. At the end of the internship they’ll be asked to provide our senior management team with an internship evaluation presentation. This will include a strategic recommendation to improve one area of our business that the intern has contributed to and can be decided by the intern in the penultimate week.
