Nicole Barber-Lane is the iconic British actress best known for playing the powerful matriarch Myra McQueen in the long running, hugely popular, teen drama soap opera Hollyoaks. After appearing on the show for an incredible thirteen years, and earning a massive fan base, in 2019 Barber-Lane left Hollyoaks when her character moved to Spain. Her role as everyone’s favourite troubled mother meant that Barber-Lane was then featured in Woman, Red and Now Magazine, and led her and several other celebrities to team up to re-release Cyndi Lauper’s classic hit Girls Just Want To Have Fun, in aid of the charity Cancer Research UK.
However, Barber-Lane was already an established cabaret singer before her role on the show, working both as a solo artist and as part of the duo named REZQ. She also had roles in various other well-known TV shows, such as hit TV soap opera Emmerdale, The Cops, and in a commercial for the Yorkshire Building Society. She has also appeared in various stage productions at wonderful theatres like The Dance House Theatre, The Courtyard Theatre, The Robert Powell Theatre and she has even performed at The Bridgewater Hall in Manchester. More recently, Barber-Lane enjoyed an appearance at the Epstein in Liverpool as Liz, the leading role in the hit new musical Secrets. When not performing, Barber-Lane can be found on her social media accounts, where she regularly posts and interacts with her 139,000 strong fan base.
