After developing the Quick Mix Theory in the late 1970s, Grandmaster Flash revolutionized DJing techniques and laid the groundwork for modern hip-hop production and sampling. He invented the seamless looping of drum breaks from two identical records, which was crucial for extending instrumental sections for break-dancers.
