Delta Heavy

Delta Heavy, the electronic music duo consisting of Ben Hall and Simon James, began their collaboration after meeting at Nottingham University in 2003. Their shared interest in DJ culture and diverse electronic music led them to form a partnership. James brought a traditional musical background, while Hall focused on sound engineering. After graduating, they moved to London and quickly applied their complementary skills to music production.

The duo signed with Viper Recordings in 2009, contributing tracks “Galaxy” and “Abort” to the label’s compilations. Their work garnered attention, leading to a signing with the drum and bass label RAM Records in 2010. They released their initial singles, “Space Time” and “Overkill,” through RAM Records. A significant milestone was their debut extended play, “Down the Rabbit Hole,” released in May 2012, which reached number 37 on the UK Dance Chart. The single “Get By” from this EP achieved further recognition, charting at number 30 on the UK Indie Chart and number 10 on the UK Indie Breakers Chart, marking their commercial breakthrough.

Delta Heavy’s career progressed with the release of their debut album, “Paradise Lost,” on March 18, 2016, through RAM Records. This album featured singles such as “Reborn” (2014), “Ghost” (2015), and “Punish My Love” (2015). In March 2019, they released their sophomore album, “Only in Dreams,” which included collaborations with artists like Zeds Dead, Modestep, Muzzy, and Kuuro. Their track “Get By” was recognized as Best Dance Track by BBC Radio 1Xtra. In 2019, Delta Heavy won Best Male Artist (Drum and Bass) at the International Dance Music Awards. They are set to release their album “Midnight Forever” in August 2024.
