Valentino Khan, born on February 15, 1987, in Los Angeles, California, began his career in music as a hip-hop producer. He worked with artists such as T.I., 2 Chainz, and B.o.B. in the early 2010s, producing tracks like B.o.B.’s “Play For Keeps” from the album “Strange Clouds.” His early work also included co-producing Major Lazer’s 2013 single “Bubble Butt,” featuring Bruno Mars. These productions established his presence in the music industry before he transitioned into electronic music.
In 2012, Khan started releasing official remixes and original tracks. A notable early electronic release was his remix of Gent & Jawns’ “Holler” through Diplo’s Mad Decent label. His debut extended play, “In Khan We Trust,” was released in 2014 via Owsla. The EP featured the single “Make Some Noise.” In 2015, he released “Deep Down Low,” a track that gained significant attention, topping the “Billboard Twitter Emerging Artists” chart and being recognized as a popular song among DJs that year. This period marked his solidifying presence in the electronic dance music scene.
Throughout his career, Khan has continued to produce and release a variety of electronic music, collaborating with many prominent artists. His versatility is evident in his collaborations with Skrillex on “Slam Dunk” in 2016 and Alison Wonderland on “Anything” in 2020. He has performed at major events, including becoming the first DJ to perform at WWE’s SummerSlam in 2021 and WrestleMania 38 in 2022. He has released multiple EPs, including “House Party” (2019) and “French Fried” (2020), further expanding his discography and musical range.
