Seven-time gold medalist Nina Betschart is a professional beach volleyball player who held the Swiss European Champion title three years straight. Making her Confédération Européenne de Volleyball [CEV] debut at the 2011 Youth World Championship in Umag, Betschart began her path as a brilliant defense position. Betschart won her first gold medal at the 2011 U21 European Championship her first major world event at the astonishing age of 16. She played alongside five-time European Champion Nicole Eiholzer for most of her early career.
By 2013 Betschart and Eiholzer received the Sports Aid Junior Team three years in a row (2011-2013) and claimed the U20 and U22 European Champion titles; Betschart was also recognized with the 2012 Youngster of the year Swiss Volley award. The pair continuously ranked within the upper 10th winning percentile throughout the 2014 and 2015 seasons which saw three more international gold medals. In 2016 Betschart teamed up with Tanja Hüberli for the remainder of their careers and continued to rake in large sums of cash winnings amounting to $178,290 US just on Betschart’s half.
By 2017 the pair went on to claim their sequential Swiss Championship titles and won three bronze medals at the Porec Major, 4-star Moskau Tournament, and 4-star Tournament in Den Haag. Betschart was named Sportswoman of the Year in 2015 and the MVP Swiss Volley award for three consecutive years: 2017, 2018 and 2019.
