It’s all about the music, the people and positive energy! We welcome everyone to our events, and continue to create a unique place where you can come to celebrate life, and where people are free to express themselves as much as they want, and connect with each other on our dance floor.
Various rooms to explore at our events offer a refreshing mix of Techno, Acid and Underground House + Disco, and we present new wave cutting-edge music and performance artists alongside the legendary pioneers that have made our dance scene what is it today. Alongside the music, our audience is the foundation in what has become one of the greatest club nights in history, attracting millennials, seasoned original clubbers, the LGBTQ community, and everyone else in between, all melded together in the Spirit of Shoom. We are all One Family and inclusion is at the heart, just like our logo, and is an integral part of who we are. On our now iconic Shoom flyers, we were the first club to adopt the smiley as a symbol of our joy at what we created, and are continuing to spread that happiness to cities around the world.
Danny Rampling began Shoom in London, UK in 1987, before the explosion of dance clubs, in a small mirrored gymnasium that was transformed every Saturday night into a strawberry smoke-filled temple, a total free state of hedonism playing the new ‘revolutionary’ music at that time that was House, Techno, Acid and Balearic. Regular working class clubbers, fashion designers, students, and celebrities like Boy George and Leigh Bowery, made the club a melting pot of cultures, and the few pictures that exist taken at the club gives you a glimpse of how it all began. We formed a new movement, now called the ‘Second Summer of Love’, and collectively changed the landscape of clubbing and youth culture that we know today.
In the past 5 years, we have relaunched Shoom, showcasing new music, just like we did at the start of our journey, and have hosted a series sell out events in London and Amsterdam. Moving into the future, we are now touring the Vibe and Spirit of Shoom internationally including platforming new talented DJ’s like Analog Kitchen, Saytek Live and ILONA, and established headline International artists such as Jay Lumen, Derrick May, Tony Humphries and DJ Pierre.
Named recently in #4 Billboard Magazine top clubs of all time and recently featured on both BBC and Channel 4, Shoom continues on its path into the future with this ethos of inclusion, unity, and fun. An explosion of colour, Shoom was one of the first Acid House clubs, and continues to be powered by the same great passion to share our experience and legacy of underground culture to this day.
