Sander Kleinenberg gained international recognition in 1999 with the release of the first part of his thematic ‘4 Seasons’ trilogy on FFRR. Building on a career that began with his debut single ‘Bombay’ in 1993 under the artist name Free Frogs on the Belgian label Wonka Beats, Kleinenberg consistently engaged in the dance music scene. He released a single on Superstition in 1994 and, in 1996, ‘YDW (You Do Me Wrong)’ as S ‘N’ S, which was licensed by Strictly Rhythm. His seminal track ‘My Lexicon,’ released in 2000, became a genre standard for progressive house, noted for its trancey percussive melody and atmospheric chord stabs.
Throughout his extensive career, Kleinenberg has been distinguished by his innovative use of digital video and self-created visuals in his live concerts, frequently collaborating with VJ Mark Pistoire. His global reach expanded with performances such as his 2012 appearance in Lahore, Pakistan. In 2014, he released the single ‘Can You Feel It’ featuring Gwen McCrae, continuing his output of original material.
