Terry Farley

Terry Farley is a British DJ, remixer, and producer known for his significant contributions to the UK’s acid house and house music scenes. After co-founding the influential ‘Boy’s Own’ fanzine in 1985 with Andrew Weatherall and others, Terry Farley went on to solidify his reputation as a pivotal figure in the UK’s acid house and house music scenes. The publication, established between 1985 and 1986, became a vital chronicle of the emerging acid house movement. Building on this success, the ‘Boy’s Own’ collective began organizing acclaimed parties where Farley regularly DJed, ultimately leading to the launch of the successful ‘Boy’s Own’ record label.

This venture quickly became a cornerstone of the UK’s electronic music landscape, responsible for launching and nurturing some of the genre’s most iconic artists. Under Farley’s guidance, Junior Boy’s Own released Underworld’s critically acclaimed debut album, Dubnobasswithmyheadman, in 1994, followed by their equally successful Second Toughest in the Infants in 1996. The label also played a crucial role in the ascent of The Chemical Brothers, releasing their groundbreaking debut album Exit Planet Dust in 1995, an album that went on to define an era of electronic music. Into the 2000s, Farley continued to shape club culture through new initiatives, notably co-founding ‘Faith,’ a multi-faceted project comprising a long-running party series, a respected publication, and a series of popular compilation albums.
