Touch of Class Records

Touch of Class Records was founded in 2013 as a collaboration between Los Angeles natives Michael Tello of PillowTalk and Ray Zuniga. The label was created to honor their fathers’ business and artistic traditions, reflecting shared musical roots and a unified creative vision. TOCR serves as a platform for the founders’ own productions while also developing a roster of artists encountered through their musical travels. The label’s approach to music avoids specific genre limitations, challenging traditional classifications within house and techno. Their sound represents an eclectic blend, seeking harmony in diverse combinations, inspired by a commitment to consistent artistic excellence and style.

The label’s philosophy, “class,” refers to this dedication to quality and poise, not social stratification. TOCR emphasizes a common aesthetic and respect for well-executed events. It has released various EPs, including Signal Flow’s ‘Dirty Hands EP’ in 2013 and Dan Berkson & James What’s ‘On The Shelf feat. Amelia (Roy Davis Jr. Remix)’ in 2017. The label has also fostered artists such as Corey Baker, whose debut EP was released on the imprint. TOCR artists collectively aim to advance the direction of music, unbound by conventional genre constraints.
