Beabadoobee

Beatrice Kristi Ilejay Laus, known professionally as Beabadoobee, was born on June 3, 2000, in Iloilo City, Philippines. She relocated to the United Kingdom with her parents at the age of three, growing up in West London. Her musical journey began at 17 when she received her first guitar and learned through YouTube tutorials. Influenced by artists like Kimya Dawson and the Juno soundtrack, she started writing her own music. Her debut song, “Coffee,” released in September 2017, quickly gained attention, leading to a record deal with Dirty Hit Records in April 2018.

From 2018 to 2021, Beabadoobee released five extended plays: “Lice” (2018), “Patched Up” (2018), “Loveworm” (2019), “Space Cadet” (2019), and “Our Extended Play” (2021). Her debut studio album, “Fake It Flowers,” launched in October 2020. This period saw her nominated for the Rising Star Award at the 2020 Brit Awards and presented with the Radar Award at the 2020 NME Awards. She was also recognized as a breakthrough act for 2020 in the BBC’s Sound of 2020 poll. A significant turning point came when her 2017 single “Coffee” was sampled in Powfu’s 2019 track “Death Bed (Coffee for Your Head),” which became a viral sensation on TikTok and marked her first international chart entry.

Beabadoobee continued to expand her discography with her second studio album, “Beatopia,” released on July 15, 2022, featuring the R.I.A.A. Gold certified song “The Perfect Pair.” In 2023, her unreleased song snippet “Glue Song” gained viral popularity on TikTok before its official release on Valentine’s Day, later featuring a version with Clairo. She has supported major artists on tour, including The 1975, Clairo, Olivia Rodrigo, and Taylor Swift (The Eras Tour in 2023). Her third studio album, “This Is How Tomorrow Moves,” released on August 9, 2024, debuted at number one on the UK Albums Chart, marking a career milestone.
